Shttl

"Shttl" is a 2022 Ukrainian-French drama film that depicts the lives of a Jewish shtetl on the eve of Operation Barbarossa, shot in a single continuous take. The film follows Mendele, played by Moshe Lobel, an aspiring filmmaker who returns to his shtetl in Western Ukraine, along with his Ukrainian best friend Demyan, played by Petro Ninovskyi, to plan a romantic escape with the Rebbe's daughter, Yuna, played by Anisia Stasevich, as the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany threaten the Jewish community.
