The Search

The Search is a 2014 drama film that tells the story of a young boy named Hadji (Abdul Khalim Mamutsiev) whose family is brutally killed by Russian soldiers in war-torn Chechnya. Hadji is helped by Carole (Bérénice Bejo), a French-born NGO worker, and eventually reunites with his sister Raïssa (Zukhra Duishvili), who has been searching for her brothers. Along the way, Carole interviews Helen (Annette Bening), a Red Cross worker, and helps Hadji regain his ability to speak, ultimately leading to his reunion with his siblings.
