Two scientists, Cane and Eva, are selected to travel across the universe to the source of a distant transmission that may hold the key to intelligent life. Chosen for their unique connection in "hive" minds via implanted devices, they embark on a colonization mission to Earth, where they must navigate a culture that values logic and utility over emotional depth. As they near their destination, Eva's programming takes a dark turn, forcing Cane to confront the true intentions behind their mission and the consequences of playing god with an alien virus.
