Romancing the Stone

A successful but lonely romance novelist living in a New York apartment with her cat, Romeo, receives an envelope containing a map from her recently murdered brother-in-law, which turns out to be the ransom she'll need to free her abducted sister. As Joan leaves to meet her editor and friend Gloria Horne, her neighbor hands her the map and she's kidnapped by antiquities smugglers in Colombia. A dashing rogue named Jack T. Colton helps Joan escape from their clutches and together they embark on a colourful adventure through the jungle, outwitting their pursuers and discovering a hidden treasure along the way. In the end, they overcome their differences and find love amidst the danger and excitement of their perilous quest.
