This Is Spinal Tap

This Is Spinal Tap is a mockumentary comedy film that satirizes the behavior and musical pretensions of rock bands, following the fictional heavy metal band Spinal Tap on their 1982 United States concert tour to promote their new album, Smell the Glove. The documentary filmmaker Marty DiBergi (Rob Reiner) has access to all aspects of the band's activities as he makes a fly-on-the-wall film that showcases the ups and downs, warts and all, of this band of musicians, played by Christopher Guest as Nigel Tufnel, Michael McKean as David St. Hubbins, and Harry Shearer as Derek Smalls.
