Path of Blood

The 2018 documentary film "Path of Blood" tells the story of Al Qaeda's campaign in Saudi Arabia between 2003 and 2009, using hundreds of hours of captured footage to expose the dark side of the human soul. Young thrill-seekers at a jihadi boot camp sign up for a plot to overthrow the Saudi government, detonating three horrific car-bombs at Western compounds in downtown Riyadh and becoming embroiled in a cat-and-mouse game with government forces. As their plans unravel, they resort to ever more brutal tactics. The film explores the battle between Al Qaeda and the security services, highlighting the brainwashed idealism and youthful pursuit of adventure that can descend into madness and carnage.
