Irma la Douce

In this wildly entertaining romantic comedy, Jack Lemmon stars as Patou, a recently fired policeman who falls deeply in love with a charming French prostitute named Irma la Douce (Shirley MacLaine). To protect her from her abusive pimp and his own unrequited feelings for her, Patou creates an alter-ego, Lord X, a wealthy English lord who becomes Irma's exclusive client.
