Adam Slope (Jonathan Silverman), a desperate genetics professor, clones his deceased wife Dawn after she dies in a fire at her glassblowing studio, attempting to recreate the exact person he loved, but each clone has its own problems, driving him increasingly crazy. As Adam's obsession grows, so does Emma Grady's (Scout Taylor-Compton) frustration with his cloning methods and her unrequited feelings for him. Meanwhile, a suspicious life insurance investigator investigates Adam, leading to a confrontation that ultimately forces him to reevaluate his actions and accept the reality of his loss. In the end, Adam moves on, and he and Emma find love together, raising a clone of each other who also fall in love with Dawn (Jennifer Finnigan).
