Sandra Bullock stars as Gracie Hart, a tough FBI Agent who goes undercover as a contestant in the Miss United States beauty pageant to prevent a terrorist from committing an act of violence. She is transformed into a conventional ladylike persona by coach Victor Melling (Michael Caine) and eventually wins the hearts of her fellow contestants, including awkward Cheryl Frasier (Heather Burns).
