Five friends - Teapot (Sammo Hung), Curly (John Shum), Exhaust Pipe (Richard Ng), Vaseline (Charlie Chin), and Rookie (Stanley Fung) - meet in their cell to form a friendship and later team up with Curly's beautiful sister, Shirley, as they start the Five Stars Cleaning Co. Their lives become complicated when a wealthy convict named Jack Tar starts trading counterfeit currency, leading to a massive freeway pile-up and a series of misadventures involving a Triad gang war and corrupt police officer CID 07 (Jackie Chan).
