People of the Po Valley

Gente del Po is a documentary short film that documents people living on or near the Po river in Italy during the 1940s. Shot by director Michelangelo Antonioni in 1943 and released in 1947, the film follows barge workers and fishermen, with Rina Morelli serving as the voice of the narrator. As part of the early Italian neorealism movement, Gente del Po focuses on everyday life and people rather than scenic landscapes or art pieces.
