Last Year at Marienbad

In a sumptuous luxury hotel set amidst the palatial splendor of a chateau, a man attempts to convince a woman that they had spent time together the previous year, but she has no recollection of any encounter. The more he speaks about their activities, the more compelling he becomes, yet her insistence on ignorance only fuels his persuasion. Set against the backdrop of a weekend gathering with unnamed residents, the film masterfully weaves together ambiguous flashbacks and disorienting shifts in time and location, leaving the viewer questioning what is real and what is imagined.
