A father and daughter, Will (Ben Foster) and Tom, live a mysterious life in Forest Park, near Portland, Oregon, relying on survival skills and avoiding human contact. After a small mistake tips them off to authorities, they embark on an erratic journey in search of a place to call home. Along the way, they face challenges that test their relationship, Will's PTSD, and their ability to survive off the grid.
