The Nightcomers

At the turn of the century in Victorian England, two orphans, Flora and Miles, are raised at a remote manor by a beautiful governess, Miss Jessel (Stephanie Beacham), who is seduced by the charismatic gardener Peter Quint (Marlon Brando) with a twisted philosophy on love and death. As their relationship deepens, the children become fascinated with it, leading to tragic consequences that ultimately result in the deaths of Quint and Miss Jessel at the hands of Flora and Miles. The film is a prequel to Henry James' 1898 novella "The Turn of the Screw."
