Look Away

Look Away is a 2018 Canadian psychological horror drama film that tells the story of Maria, an alienated high schooler bullied by her classmate, Mark, and played by India Eisley as both herself and Airam, her sinister mirror image. As Maria switches places with Airam, she becomes more confident and assertive, but also increasingly dark and violent. The film follows Maria's descent into madness as she confronts the toxic school environment, her father's philandering and obsessive perfectionism, and her own inner darkness. With a strong performance from Eisley, the film explores themes of isolation, teen angst, and identity split, resulting in a thought-provoking but sometimes uneven viewing experience.
