Django Unchained

In 1858 Texas, a freed slave named Django sets out to rescue his wife from the brutal Mississippi plantation owner Calvin Candie, with the help of a German bounty hunter, Dr. King Schultz. This revisionist Western film is a stylized tribute to spaghetti Westerns, exploring the complex layers of violence and racism in the Antebellum South and Old West. With its highly entertaining yet disturbing portrayal of slavery, Django Unchained features superb performances from its cast, including Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, and Samuel L.
