Ryden Malby (Alexis Bledel), a recent college graduate, moves back in with her family after losing her job and interview for an assistant editor position at Happerman and Browning. Her life spirals out of control as she navigates various embarrassing encounters with her rival Jessica Bard, forms a connection with David Santiago, and must confront her feelings about her career and love life. Along the way, Ryden learns valuable lessons from her family members, including her father Walter and grandmother Maureen. In the end, she surprises Adam Davies, her best friend and former boyfriend, by confessing her romantic feelings towards him, leading to a new beginning for both of them.
