Solitary Man

The film "Solitary Man" follows 54-year-old Ben Kalmen (Michael Douglas), a successful car dealer whose personal and professional life is in shambles due to his infidelity, bad business decisions, and age-related health issues. As he struggles with feelings of loneliness and loss, Ben's fortunes drastically change after meeting an impressionable student named Daniel (Jesse Eisenberg) who appreciates his wisdom and advice. Ben's relationships with his family, including daughter Susan (Jenna Fischer), girlfriend Jordon Karsch (Mary-Louise Parker), and wife Nancy Kalmen (Susan Sarandon), are put to the test as he faces eviction and a serious beating. Ultimately, Ben must confront his mortality and the consequences of his actions in order to find a way to reconnect with those around him.
