The Orchard End Murder

In 1966, Pauline Cox (Tracy Hyde) accompanies her boyfriend Mike Robins to a village cricket match in Charthurst Green, Kent, but becomes bored and wanders away to the local railway station. There, she meets an eccentric railway gatekeeper, Bill Wallis, who entertains her with tea before meeting his assistant Ewen, Clive Mantle, who upsets her when he kills a rabbit in front of her. Pauline is waylaid by Ewen while crossing an apple orchard and strangled to death. Years later, the gatekeeper helps bury Ewen's body in the same orchard after Ewen breaks down hysterically, revealing his role in the crime.
