Wild Strawberries

A gruff, 78-year-old retired doctor embarks on a long car ride from Stockholm to Lund to receive an honorary degree, accompanied by his pregnant and unhappy daughter-in-law Marianne. Along the way, they encounter a series of hitchhikers who prompt Isak Borg to reflect upon the pleasures and failures of his life, including a vivacious young woman named Sara who bears an unsettling resemblance to his first love. As Isak confronts his own mortality and the emptiness of his past accomplishments, he begins to accept himself and find closure, ultimately arriving at a sense of peace and affirmation.
