Brewster McCloud is a 1970 American black comedy film directed by Robert Altman, starring Bud Cort as owlish and intellectual recluse Brewster McCloud who lives in a fallout shelter under the Houston Astrodome and dreams of creating wings to fly like a bird. The primary suspect in a series of bird-related murders becomes a chief suspect after victims are found strangled and covered in bird droppings, with a serial killer targeting authoritarian figures in Houston. Brewster eventually confesses his responsibility for the killings to Suzanne Davis, played by Shelley Duvall, who betrays him to the police, leading to a chaotic confrontation at the Astrodome where Brewster fails to take flight using his completed wings.
