In this 1987 satirical comedy, Robert Townsend stars as Bobby Taylor, a young black man aspiring to become an actor despite his grandmother's disapproval of his career choices. As he navigates the racial stereotypes and prejudices in Hollywood, Bobby experiences a series of mental and external roadblocks, including fantasies satirizing African-American stereotypes in film and television.
