Clint Eastwood stars as Ben Shockley, an alcoholic Phoenix police detective tasked with escorting a belligerent prostitute named Gus Mally from Las Vegas to Phoenix for her to testify against the mob. As they try to evade their pursuers, including corrupt officials and hitmen, the unlikely duo forms a bond that ultimately leads to a thrilling showdown.
