Will Montgomery (Nicolas Cage) is released from prison after serving a 10-year sentence and reunites with his teenage daughter Alison, who has been kidnapped by her ex-comrade Vincent Kinsey (Josh Lucas), who demands $20 million in exchange for her safe return within 12 hours. Will must navigate the FBI's pursuit and his own troubled past to save his daughter, aided by Riley Jeffers (Malin Åkerman) and FBI agent Tim Harlend (Danny Huston).
