Miles Monroe, a jazz musician and owner of a health food store in New York City's Greenwich Village, is cryogenically frozen in 1973 for a routine ulcer operation that goes wrong. Two hundred years later, he is revived by rebels fighting an oppressive government regime in a dystopian future United States ruled by a dictator known as "The Leader". Miles escapes and disguises himself as a robot to infiltrate the authorities, who are obsessed with controlling every aspect of society, including their citizens' bodies. After falling in love with socialite Luna Schlosser, he must join forces with her to stop the government's sinister plan and discover the true meaning of freedom and love.
