Big Sur is a 2013 adventure drama film written and directed by Michael Polish, based on the 1962 novel of the same name by Jack Kerouac. The story follows Jack Kerouac as he seeks respite from his mental and physical deterioration due to alcoholism in Big Sur, California, but finds loneliness driving him back to the city. Jean-Marc Barr stars as Kerouac, alongside Josh Lucas as Neal Cassady, Kate Bosworth as Billie, and Anthony Edwards as Lawrence Ferlinghetti.
