Karnan, an angry young man, fights for the rights of his oppressed people. Character Dhanush (as Karnan) becomes embroiled in a conflict between two neighbouring villages, Melur and Podiyankulam, as they dispute over a bus stop. The villagers, particularly Dhanush's character, are intimidated by the police, who are under the influence of the local government.
