In 1592, South Korea teeters on the brink of destruction as Japanese forces close in. Against this backdrop of chaos and bloodshed, a small band of mercenaries steps forward to protect a young prince who will become the country's last hope for survival: Crown Prince Gwanghae, son of King Seonjo, who has fled into exile to escape the invaders.
