After the sudden death of their midwife, L.A. couple Deb (Troian Bellisario) and her artist boyfriend Silvio hire Sascha (Arron Shiver), his hippie son, to be their live-in doula. As they prepare for the birth of their first child, Sascha reminisces about how he and his mother became doulas, leading to a series of events that test Deb's desires for a natural birth.
