Based on the facts, "Beneath Hill 60" is a true story of Australia's secret underground mine warfare during WWI. The film tells the tale of Oliver Woodward, an Australian miner commissioned to lead the 1st Australian Tunnelling Company as they engage in cat-and-mouse battles beneath the Western Front. With daring engineering and technology, the tunnellers worked to aid British troops' advance, but at great personal risk, in a conflict that has often been misunderstood or misrepresented.
