In this 1955 Technicolor drama romance film, Rock Hudson and Anne Baxter star as Clint Saunders, a former gambler, and Tacey Cromwell, a bar woman who leaves her shady past behind to start anew in a Colorado mining town with her younger brother and an orphaned girl. As they try to build a respectable life together, their love is threatened by Judith Watrous, the daughter of the town banker, played by Julia Adams. Adapted from Conrad Richter's 1942 novel "Tacey Cromwell", this film tells a rugged story of love and redemption set against the backdrop of early 20th-century Oklahoma.
