William Hopper

Biography

William DeWolf Hopper Jr., born January 26, 1915, in New York City, was the only child of actor and actress Hedda Hopper and her fifth husband, DeWolf Hopper. He began his acting career as a baby in his father's 1916 silent film, Sunshine Dad, before transitioning to stage and film work. After World War II, he resumed his film career under director William Wellman in the 1950s, gaining recognition for roles in "The Deadly Mantis" and "Rebel Without a Cause".
