Carole Mackay (Suranne Jones) is an unashamedly outspoken and wealthy entrepreneur who earns a fortune selling festive items online, earning her the nickname 'Christmas Carole'. However, beneath her successful exterior lies a monumentally mean person who doesn't love Christmas at all. This Christmas Eve, Carole's past, present, and future are about to collide, potentially aided by familiar Christmas spirits including the Ghost of Christmas Past (Jonty Stephens), the Ghost of Christmas Present (Jo Brand), and the ominous Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come (Nish Kumar).
