"Bille" is a 2018 drama film based on Vizma Belševica's book of the same name. The movie follows Bille, a lonely yet spiritually strong little girl who struggles to comprehend the adult world and prove her value despite her family's ignorance and lack of appreciation in late 1930s Latvia. Played by Rūta Kronberga, Bille finds an escape in her vivid imagination as she tries to navigate her complicated relationships with her family members, including her mother (Elīna Vāne) and father (Artūrs Skrastiņš).
