Lionel Gamlin

Biography

Lionel James Gamlin was a British radio and newsreel announcer and actor, born in Birkenhead in 1903. He made a name for himself as a BBC announcer and actor, working in film and television throughout the 1930s and 1940s, including notable roles in "The Whisperers" and "Seance on a Wet Afternoon". Gamlin's authoritative voice was a familiar presence on screens during the Second World War.
