Marcella Di Falco was an Italian LGBT rights activist, actor, and politician known for her trailblazing career in politics as the first open trans woman to hold public office worldwide. She became president of the MIT - Movimento Identità Transessuale in 1988 and vice-president of the Osservatorio Nazionale sull'Identità di Genere in 1997. Her life was featured in the documentary biography "Storia di Marcella che fu Marcello," released in 2019.
