Bembol Roco is a renowned Filipino actor celebrated for his critically acclaimed role as Julio Madiaga in Maynila: Sa mga Kuko ng Liwanag ("Manila in the Claws of Light"). He also gained international recognition for his part in the 1982 Australian-U.S. film The Year of Living Dangerously. Roco's collaborations with directors Lino Brocka and Ishmael Bernal have become legendary, earning him a place among Philippine cinema's most esteemed actors.
