Margherita Horowitz

Biography

Margherita Horowitz was an Austrian-born Italian actress who began her career at 14 in Vienna's theater scene. She fled Austria due to anti-Semitic sentiment and found work in Italy, where she converted to Catholicism and married a fascist. During WWII, she helped the Nazis while working as a translator for them, before re-emerging as a character actress in film roles from the 1960s onwards.
