Biography

Anil Chatterjee was a renowned Indian actor in Bengali cinema from the early fifties to the mid-nineties, primarily known for his work as a character actor. Notable roles include Shankar in "The Cloud-Capped Star" (1960) and Bhudeb in "The Goddess" (1960). Born on October 25, 1929, in Balagarh, Hooghly, India, Chatterjee graduated from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, and later served as a Member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly.
