Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones, known as Nas, is an American rapper and businessman rooted in East Coast hip hop, regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time. He rose to international success with his second album It Was Written (1996), which debuted atop the Billboard 200 and charted for four consecutive weeks. After a highly publicized feud with Jay-Z, Nas's music career was revitalized with albums like Stillmatic (2001) and Hip Hop Is Dead (2006).
