Brian Setzer

Biography

Brian Setzer was born in Massapequa, New York, and began playing jazz on the euphonium before shifting to rock, punk, and rockabilly. He co-founded the Stray Cats with his brother Gary, but the band's biggest success came when guitarist Dave Edmunds joined, producing two hit albums including "Stray Cat Strut" and "(She's) Sexy + 17". After the Stray Cats disbanded in 1984, Setzer formed the Brian Setzer Orchestra and later pursued a solo career.
