Biography

Kurôemon Onoe was a renowned Japanese actor and kabuki performer, best known for his roles in classic adaptations of Miyamoto Musashi. Born into a family of kabuki performers, he began his career as a young actor, eventually adopting the name Onoe Kurôemon. He later pursued a career in the United States, teaching acting at Harvard and Columbia universities while continuing to promote Japanese theater.
