Allan Jones was a versatile American actor and singer, best known for his roles in classic film musicals such as "Show Boat" (1936) and "The Firefly" (1937), where he introduced the signature song "The Donkey Serenade". He also starred alongside the Marx Brothers in two MGM films, "A Night at the Opera" (1935) and "A Day at the Races" (1937). A singer by training, Jones' voice was influenced by his musically talented father and grandfather.
