Biography

Yayoi Watanabe is a Japanese actress born on August 24, 1952. She gained recognition for her roles in the Toei films "The Okinawa War of Ten Years" (1978), "Karate Warriors" (1976), and "Wolf Guy" (1975). After marrying sumo wrestler Tatsuya Kurama in 1979, Watanabe retired from acting, writing an autobiographical book about him which was adapted into a TV drama after his death from leukemia in 1995.
