He rose to prominence in the 1990s through comedic roles in *Voll normaaal*, *Ballermann 6*, and Michael "Bully" Herbig's hit *Der Schuh des Manitu*. Sözer has also appeared in more serious film and television roles, including Lars Becker's *Kanak Attack* and Christian Petzold's drama *Jerichow*.
