Michaela DePrince
Biography
Michaela DePrince was a Sierra Leonean-American ballet dancer who rose to fame after starring in the documentary "First Position" (2011). She won a scholarship to the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre and became the youngest dancer in history with the Dance Theatre of Harlem in 2012. A goodwill ambassador with War Child from 2016 to 2024, DePrince also authored the memoir "Taking Flight: From War Orphan to Star Ballerina" (2014).
