Kwan Hoi-San

Biography

Herman Kwan Hoi-San was a Hong Kong actor who began his career in Cantonese opera before joining the New Voice Opera Troupe and transitioning to acting in films, including notable roles in adaptations of opera and later in supporting parts after his career faltered with the shift towards Mandarin. He gained fame for lead roles and suffered a stroke in 2001, leaving him mute and paralyzed until his death in 2006.
