Rocco Papaleo was born on August 16, 1958, in Lauria, Basilicata, Italy. Before becoming an actor, he studied mathematics at university while working as a dishwasher and later attended the theatre school. He made his theatrical debut in 1984 and transitioned to television with roles in Classe di ferro and Padre Pio... before establishing himself in film with notable collaborations with Leonardo Pieraccioni and Giovanni Veronesi.
