Garry McDonald

Biography

Garry McDonald AO was born on October 30, 1948, in Bondi, Sydney. He pioneered the "ambush interviewer" technique as Norman Gunston, earning a Gold Logie award and becoming a Logie Hall of Fame inductee. As Arthur Beare in the sitcom Mother and Son, he showcased his versatility in television comedy. He was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2003 for service to mental health and the arts.
