Harry Monty

Biography

Hymie Lichtenstein, better known as Harry Monty, was a Polish-American actor and stuntman born in Dallas, Texas in 1904. He began his career in vaudeville before transitioning to film, with notable roles including the Munchkin and Winged Monkey in Wizard of Oz (1939). Monty also worked extensively as a stunt double for child actors and appeared in numerous other films throughout his five-decade career.
